The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Marcia Putnam can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Marcia

I will never forget the evening I walked into Jim's room at St. Joseph's Hospital.  When Marcia saw me she burst into tears.  She knew my presence meant Jim was about to have a cardiac procedure which turned out to be coronary artery bypass surgery.  I can  still see that scene as if it  were yesterday.

We had first met in 1985 or 1986 when she asked me to cover her clinical for a couple of weeks.  That was my first introduction to Paris Junior College.  Several years later in 2004, I took a position at PJC as a nursing instructor.  At that time, I learned how great of a teacher Marcia, Donna Gatlin, and Ms. Joan Mathis were.  They were my role models.  I could only hope that one day I could be come as good of an instructor as they were.   Marcia, a great person, great nurse and teacher.  I will be forever greatful for your influence.

Your friend

Tom
