Dear Vivian, children, sisters and family--
There are many characteristics that 'are' Mike Jack. But the one that always greeted me was that ear-to-ear smile and a welcomed hug. Our friendship goes back over 50 years to East Paris Elementary School and his legacy and servant's heart will always be with me. I'll remember our times in the Blue Blazes Band, Stage Band and just being part of the 'band family.' I had the extreme pleasure of playing golf with him during my class' reunion one year when we were in need of a pick-up player or two...needless to say, we had the 'ringer'!
I was blessed to see him live out his faith and desire to help others when our son and his family packed up and moved from Arlington, TX to Atlanta, GA in 2012. Once Arnie heard about the move, he was quick to offer boxes for packing of all sizes and shapes. I know there had to be at least a 100 in his first deliver. Without being requested, he and Vivian returned with another load just in case they were needed--and they were.
I can't think of the 14th chapter of John when Jesus is giving comfort to his disciples. I know Arnie shared these thoughts with each of you, maybe not in word, but in deed. If we know anything we know our Heavenly Father will keep his promise to his children.
Rest on Him who cares for you. Today and in the days ahead, may your lives be filled with the wonderful memories Arnie created for you and all of us...and even in the darkest of days, his smile will brighten your way. In Christian love, Derald (and Lesa) Bulls
