Obituary for Naomi F. Bates

Naomi F.   Bates
Naomi F. Bates, age 88, of Paris, Texas passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. A time of visitation with the family will take place 6-8 pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Roden-Pryor Funeral Directors.

Naomi was born November 26, 1929 in Howland, Texas to Oliver Loyd and Ollie Mae Smith Preston. She and her family resided in California for many years before returning to Paris in 1982. She was a hard worker, having worked a variety of jobs over the years. She was passionate about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Naomi was a giving person and was very caring and concerned about the welfare of those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Bates, a brother, Curtis Preston, and sons-in-law, Nick McDonough and Oda Wysong. She is survived by a son, Richard Bates and wife, Amba, daughters, Sheila McDonough and Linda Wysong; grandchildren, Theresa Baine, Kymmberlie Baine, Debbra Bates, Adam Bates and wife, Misty, and Callie Bates; great-grandchildren, Justin Reed, Jacob Reed, Makenzie Hampton, Marissa Bates, Milea Bates, Marley Bates, and Mia Bates; step-grand kids, Krista Johnson, Kevin Harvey and wife, Andrea, Aaron Johnson, Avery Johnson, Garrett Harvey, Gavin Harvey, and Cyndi Bates; and special friend and caretaker for many years, Teri Rhodes.
