Obituary for Mike Mowat
Michael Steven “Mike” Mowat, 61 of Paris, Texas, passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Nov. 23, 2017, after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Dallas, Texas, on April 1, 1956, to Iva Nell Bennett Mowat and Oliver Cromwell Mowat Jr., he was the fourth of their five children.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; both maternal and paternal grandparents; his sisters, Martha Jane Mowat and Laura Lee Mowat Sanchez; and a nephew, Christopher Michael Mowat.
Surviving Mike are his sister, Patricia Nell Mowat Garland and husband, Roger, of San Antonio, Texas; and his brother and loving caregiver, Oliver Cromwell Mowet III and his fiancee, Lisa Shew, of Paris, Texas.
Mike is also survived by his much loved son, Cody Christopher James Mowat of Dallas, Texas; as well as Cody's mother, Mike's former wife, Karen Darcangelo. Other survivors are his nieces and nephews and their families; an aunt; cousins; and other extended family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held in Paris on December 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge, 1125 N.W. Loop 286, where Mike was a member. In addition, a memorial service will be held in Dallas on December 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Agape Methodist Church, 5111 Capital Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75206.
