Obituary for
Bill Oneal
BILL O’NEAL, 82, of Paris, died Wednesday October 24, 2007 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Starrett Funeral Home will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday October 27, 2007 at the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ with Foy O’Neal officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. O’Neal was born June 18, 1925 in Coalgate, OK, a son of George and Effie Elkins O’Neal. He graduated from Hugo High School in 1943, then served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He graduated from Denver University in 1949. Bill was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. In addition to his secular work, Bill preached for many small congregations of the Church of Christ in Oklahoma and Texas.
He married the former Jean Pool on January 7, 1949 in Durant, OK.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ben O’Neal, Bill O’Neal and Larry O’Neal; five grandchildren, Elsa, Keith, Candace, Jennifer and Ryan; and five great-grandchildren.
Named to serve as pallbearers are Ronny Usry, Hank Jenkot, Ed Bullard, Cleve Fendley, Louie Woodall, and Jack Cooley. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Casey and Roy Bolton.
