Obituary for William A. Sherrer

William A.  Sherrer
William Allen Sherrer, age 81, of Powderly passed peacefully into heaven on May 21, 2018. Services will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 11 AM in the Chapel at Evergreen Cemetery. A visitation will take place one hour prior to service time, beginning at 10 AM, also in the Chapel at Evergreen. Roden-Pryor Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

William was born November 19, 1936 to Woodrow and Katherine Holmes Sherrer in Lamar County and he spent most of his life here. He retired from Texas Department of Transportation with 33 years of service and he faithfully served his country for more than 40 years in the National Guard.

He was a loving and faithful husband. He was married to Betty Ann Martin for 10 years until her passing in 1967. He later married Shirley Jean Adams, a union that lasted more than 46 years. He was a father to 10 children, grandfather and great-grandfather to 25 children.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, and the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

William was a man of integrity, honesty, and a hard working man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
