Obituary for Vickie McEwin (Bronson)

Vickie McEwin (Bronson)
Vickie Bronson McEwin affectionately known as MeMaw to her family passed away peacefully at her home on October 27, 2017 at the age of 68 with her beloved family and animals at her side.

Vickie was born May 29, 1949 in Decatur, Texas to Clinton B. and Ellen Josephine (Shelton) Bronson. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents, O.D. and Susie Shelton.

Vickie grew up in Paris, Texas and attended Paris schools. She married her best friend and soul mate, Bobby, on June 3, 1968 in Hugo, OK and they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary next year.

She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bobby” McEwin; two sons, Chip McEwin and wife, Jennifer, Chris McEwin and wife, Shanna; Grandchildren, Dylan McEwin, Zachary McEwin, Jaycie McEwin, Aidan McEwin, Elijah McEwin, Paisley McEwin; her mother, Jo Arant; a brother Clinton Bronson, Jr., a precious niece, Mary Hart, along with in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vickie was a constant helping hand to all in her community. She was a Boy Scout Leader and spent years mentoring boys teaching them self- respect and to honor their parents.

She was always laughing, teasing, giving you the “Vickie Eye” if you did something she didn’t agree with and best known for making the sweetest tea in Texas!

She enjoyed collecting antiques and all outdoor activities, especially golfing with her family.

Memaw was a beautiful and selfless soul. Her time was devoted to all of her loved ones. Not a ballgame or any special event would pass that her “kiddos” wouldn’t look up and see her smiling back and cheering them on. Her loved ones here will dearly miss her; yet, we rest assured she is still watching over all of us.

On Monday, October 30, 2017, at 2:00pm friends and family are invited to attend a “Celebration of Life” that will be held at Southside Baptist Church in Paris, Texas. Donations in Vickie's name may be made to the Lamar County Humane Society.
