Joyce Marie Patras, 81, a life-long resident of the Reno community completed her earthly journey and passed away peacefully on October 22, 2017 at Carriage House Manor in Sulphur Springs. A time of visitation will take place at Roden-Pryor Funeral Directors on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 6-7 pm with a Rosary service at 7:00 pm. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Joyce lived her entire life in Reno, except for the last 9 months while at Carriage House. She lovingly raised her family, tended to her flowers and cared for her many animal friends on the same soil settled by her maternal grandfather.

She was the daughter of J.D. and Estella (Stephenson) Wisely. On August 7, 1952 she married Verle Patras of Clearwater, Nebraska and together they had two children who became the center of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She attended Our Lady of Victory Academy and Blossom Schools. She was employed by St. Joseph's Hospital for 26 years, and was a life-long member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter, Dr. Nick Patras of Commerce and Gail Henry of Venus; three granddaughters, Merianne Bolton of Paris, Angela Shelby of Blossom, and Lacy Garcia of Venus; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She leaves a legacy of unconditional love for her family, complete faith in her God, and joy derived from the simple things in life. She will remain in our hearts forever.

The family extends grateful appreciation to the staff at Carriage House Manor and Legacy Hospice for their compassionate care during her brief illness.
