Obituary for Danny Frank Christian

Danny Frank Christian
Danny Frank Christian, resident of Yantis, Texas, died on August 14, 2017 at the age of 58 while doing what he loved most, fishing in his favorite cove on Lake Fork. Danny’s family and friends will be gathering at Roden-Pryor Funeral Home on Saturday, August 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. to celebrate his life and reflect on fond memories.

Danny was born in Dallas, Texas on October 2, 1958, and spent the majority of his life in Paris, Texas. He was a 1977 graduate of Paris High School where he pursued his lifelong love of baseball, playing catcher for the Wildcats. Danny was known for being an exceptional friend, and could light up a room with his warm smile. He was voted Owl Sweetheart at PHS in 1976 and 1977, no doubt due to his charming good looks.

His father, Sonny, started the family business, C&S Plumbing, in 1960, and it quickly became a father-son venture. Danny and his brother, Terry, worked alongside their father until they decided to pursue their own respective careers. Danny was a lineman for TXU for 17 years, but his entrepreneurial spirit and incredible handiness eventually led him to dabble in other areas.

He was an incredibly hard worker, but he also knew how to kick back and let the good times roll. Danny enjoyed spending time on the lake with his fishing buddies Brent and Jay, golfing, shootin’ the breeze with his big brother, wood-working, cheering on the Rangers, listening to his favorite bands, traveling with his wife, Paula, working on their lake-front slice of Heaven, and building his University of Texas Longhorn T-shirt collection. You’d be hard-pressed to find a bigger ‘Horns fan.

His love of music and his strong faith were married together when he joined the Tribe of Judah Praise Team as a trumpet player at the church his family belonged to during the eight years they lived in Georgetown, Texas. Danny was also involved in the numerous original musical productions the church presented to the community in Zilker Park in Austin.

Danny was blessed with two daughters, Danielle and Savannah, on August 29, 1984 and May 24, 1991, respectively. Family time was of the utmost importance to him, assuming the roles of team coach, fishing guide, and stage dad at his girls’ dance recitals and vocal competitions. He was always willing to wear any hat, to help anyone, and to do anything necessary to get the job done. He truly was our sweetheart.

He is survived by his wife, Paula; his daughters Danielle Dollins and Savannah Abbott, and their spouses Chris Dollins and Chance Abbott; his step-sons Brent Edwards and Brian Edwards, and their spouses Amanda Yarbrough and Tammy Edwards; his brother Terry Christian and his wife Staci Christian; his grandchildren Amelia Chesshire, Aly Dollins, Ely Dollins, Wesley Cedillo, Bryce Perez, Kashlynn Ward, and Kassidy Lester; his niece Mally Christian and nephews Trase Christian and Jay Ingram; and numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Connie and Sonny Christian.

Donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in memory of Danny.
