Obituary for Richard Goodson
Richard Neal Goodson, age 82, of Sumner, TX passed away July 4, 2017 at Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, TX. Graveside services will be conducted by Roden-Pryor Funeral Directors at 11:00 AM on Monday, July10, 2017 at Tigertown Cemetery with Rev. Benny Dollins officiating. Visitation with the family will be 4-6 PM Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Roden-Pryor Funeral Directors.
Neal was born July 15, 1934 in Lamar County, Texas to Richard Thomas and Ethel (Shepherd) Goodson. He was in the auto parts business and later retired from B&W after 27 years of service. He was an active member of the Collins Lodge #356 of Tigertown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jimmie; brother, Robert Glenn Goodson; niece, Brenda Witt; & brother-in-law, Orville Smith.
Neal is survived by three sons, Myron Goodson of Paris, Tim Goodson (Jan) of Hopewell, Jeff Goodson (Frances) of Blossom; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Smith of Gunter; nephew, Matt Smith of Little Elm; nieces, Sandra Yansky of Gunter and Cindy Hampton of Garland; several great-nieces & nephews; and his very good friend & mother of his three children, Myrna Goodson.
