Obituary for Janice Marie Smith
JANICE MARIE SMITH, 56, of Powderly, passed away Tuesday March 14, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Roden-Pryor Funeral Directors will conduct graveside rites 2:00 P.M. Saturday March 18th, 2017 at Long Cemetery in Powderly with Rev. Mark Hutchison officiating.
The family will greet friends 6:00 – 7:00 P.M. Friday March 17th, 2017 at Roden-Pryor Funeral Home.
Janice was born June 24, 1960 to Harry C. Smith and Lydia O'Neal in Paris, Texas. She attended local schools and graduated from North Lamar High School. For ten long years, Janice worked for Brannan's Bass Shop in Powderly; and then five years as a department manager for Hobby Lobby in Paris.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kenneth Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Keila Armstrong, and husband, Kenneth Vaughn, of Powderly, Texas; two grandchildren, Kentley Vaughn and Keaton Vaughn; brother, Travis Smith, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother James Smith, of Paris, Texas; Ronnie Smith, of Powderly, Texas; brother, Dennis Smith, of Rawhide, Texas; sister, Ruth Mitchell, of Stewart, Mississippi; sister, Paula Johnson, of Paris, Texas; sister, Helen Garrison, of Powderly, Texas; sister, Loretta Smith, of Detroit, Texas; as well as numerous family and friends who will miss her dearly.
