Eva N. Flenniken
EVA N. FLENNIKEN, 77, of Deport, Texas, was welcomed into the arms of her loving Savior Tuesday March 7, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Roden-Pryor Funeral Directors will conduct funeral services 11:00 A.M. Friday March 10, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Paris, Texas with Dr. Tommy Turner and Rev. Ken Cannon officiating.
The family will greet friends 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. Friday March 10, 2017 at the church.
Eva was born June 18th, 1939 to Marvin C. Couch and Lucille Cornish in the Deport community. She attended both Paris Junior College and Texas A&M University – Commerce. She worked twenty years for UARCO, Inc.; eighteen years with the Texas Department of Transportation; as well as six years for Belk Department Store. Eva was as a longtime member and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in Paris, Texas. She served her community as a Children’s Literacy tutor, as volunteer with Dylan’s Drivers and the Lamar County Crime Stoppers. She was a devoted Rotarian (Greater Paris Rotary Club); as well as a recipient of the Paul Harris Award.
On November 16th, 1957, she married her beloved husband, Boyce, at the First Methodist Church of Annona, Texas. Together they enjoyed many years full of traveling, gardening, raising livestock, photography, rodeos, and gathering with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Boyce Flenniken; son, Blake Flenniken, and wife, Vicki, of Deport; son, Bryan Flenniken, and wife, Elizabeth, of Ft. Worth; daughter, Cindy Flenniken, and husband, Dewey Blank, of Clarksville; her mother, Lucille Cornish, of Deport; seven grandchildren: Kristin Scott, and husband, Jason; Morgan Risinger, and husband, Josh; Justin Flenniken, and wife, Lilly; Haley Foutch, and husband, Brandon; Jason Flenniken, and wife, Riana; Alyssa Ingle, and husband, Craig; and Carley Vaughn; as well as eleven great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
Eva was preceded in death by her father, M.C. Couch; a sister, Mildred Houston; a brother, Wayne Couch; grandson, Colton Vaughn; mother-in-law, Dora Flenniken; father-in-law, Earl Flenniken; nephew, Dylan Ballard; and niece, Hannah Weiberg.
