Obituary for Lanny Gene Adams

Lanny Gene  Adams
 LANNY GENE ADAMS, 66, of Paris, passed from this life unexpectedly on Wednesday June 3, 2015 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Starrett Funeral Home will conduct graveside rites at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 9, 2015 at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Duane Hamil officiating.
 
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
 
Lanny was born February 11, 1949 in Paris, a son of James William and Gladys Maynard Adams. He was a graduate of Paris High School and Paris Junior College, then spent a career of forty-five years at the Silgan Container Corporation in Paris. For four years, 1969 to 1972, he left his job at Silgan to honorably serve his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict. He loved his family and friends, and his happiest moments were those spent with family; especially grandchildren. He loved to grill and have family cookouts.  He was a movie buff, enjoying Sci-Fi, especially.  Rambo and the Terminator took a close second. He was a member of the Cowboy Church in the Bible Camp.
 
On May 13, 1969 he married the love of his life, Linda Veteto, in Paris.
 
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Adams, in 2007; a grandchild, Kamron Dabbs; his father, James William Adams; a brother, Tim Adams; and a nephew Michael Adams.
 
Survivors include his wife Linda; two daughters, Regina Gilbreath and husband Rob, and Melanie Reo Adams, both of Paris; eight grandchildren, Harley Adams and wife Sarah, Abby Adams, Bella Adams Vincent Adams, Kaiya Gilbreath, Philip Gilbreath, Dayla Gilbreath, MaKinzi Adams, and Jazzy Dabbs; three great-grandchildren, Aiden Adams, Jace Adams, and Haven Adams; a nephew, Steve Adams;  a niece, Kristi Streit; a daughter-in-law, Gabby Adams, of Plainview, Minnesota; and several great-neices.
 
Named to serve as pallbearers are Richard Manning, Donald Sward, Kenney Phillips, James Phillips, Marty Melvin, Joey Haley, Mike Steele, and Matt Bawcum.
