Betty was born August 16, 1924 in Bettendorf, Iowa, a daughter of Louis G. and Dora M. Agans Stark. Her early adult years found her involved in farming and restaurant ownership. She married Fred Hentsch in 1940 in Illinois and he preceded her in death. She later married Merle Kildahl, who died in 1995. In 1982 she moved to Paris, Texas to accept the position of Executive Director of the Lamar County Human Resources Council. Through that organization she touched the lives of many, for the better. One of her great joys was her work in the founding of her church, Peace Lutheran.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons, Frederick Hentsch and Allen F. Hentcsh; a daughter Mary Woods; and a sister, Jean Zan.
Betty is survived by a brother, Louis (Skip) Stark, of Illinois; two granddaughters, Lynn Dishman, of Paris and Elizabeth Woods, of the Virgin Islands; and four grandsons, Greg Hentsch, Allen W. Hentsch, Richard Hentsch, and Scott Hentsch; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandaughter.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Betty Kildahl Scholarship Fund, which was endowed by the Lamar County Human Resources Council upon Betty’s retirement;
