Obituary for Graham Edward Dyer

Graham Edward Dyer
GRAHAM EDWARD DYER, 18, left this earth on Tuesday, August 14, 2013 in Dallas. Starrett Funeral Home will conduct funeral services at 6:00 p.m. Monday August 19, 2013 at Covenant Christian Church, with Dr. Stephen Russell officiating. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday August 21, 2013 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Starrett Funeral Home.
Graham led an incredibly full life; a life which will continue on in the memories, stories, and hearts of his many friends and family members. He graduated from Chisum High School, and had completed his first year Texas A&M University-Commerce, where he was majoring in chemistry. Spiritual things were very important to Graham, and his faith journey led him to the United Methodist Church, the Catholic Church, and the Disciples of Christ.

Graham was a drummer and musician, a skateboarder, and a constant friend. He was a Boy Scout, proud to have his father as Troop Leader and brother as fellow Scout. He joined band in eighth grade and in high school was first snare drummer on the Paris High Drum Line. He also played guitar and had recently been composing and recording his original music. He was an excellent skateboarder and it was a big part of his life. Graham loved science, photography and film. Graham always had a stream of friends around. Weekends meant a bonfire and S'mores at his place, and his friends always knew they had a second home at the Dyers.

He spent many summers at the beach in Florida with family. Graham had such a big heart that even in death he keeps on giving through the miracle of organ donation.

Graham was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Myrtice Graham; his paternal grandparents William and Myra Dyer; and two uncles, Mitchell Dyer and Edward Dyer.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Kathy Dyer, of Brookston; his sister Holly; his brother Mason; aunts and uncles Carol & Jim Hart, Janice & Terry Mitchell, Nancy & Terry Thomasson, Jim Graham, Mark & Marion Hutchison, and Max Killingsworth; his cousins Tracy Hart, Karen Huey, Will Mitchell, John Mitchell, Christopher Thomasson, Amy Painter, Lindsey Killingsworth, Shelton Killingsworth, Colby Killingsworth, and Meredith Killingsworth, and his special friend Quilliam the Hedgehog.

Honorary pallbearers include Lindsey, Shelton and Colby Killingsworth, Christopher Thomasson, John and Will Mitchell, and Cole DeVoss.

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made for the development and improvements of the Paris Skate Park, c/o the Parks and Recreation Department, The City of Paris, Texas.
Friends may register in Graham’s Book of Memories at www.starrettfunerals.com.
